Hudson Valley Flooring Installation

Hardwood, laminate and tile floors installed tight, level and finished clean — in Red Hook and all around it.

A floor is the one surface you touch all day, and it is where a house shows its age first. We install hardwood, laminate and tile floors across the Hudson Valley — red oak nailed down board by board, laminate and luxury vinyl click-locked tight for busy households and rentals, tile where water wins in entries, kitchens and baths. You can see our own red oak installation in the photos on this page — rows pulled tight, joints staggered, ends cut clean against the wall. The right floor depends on the room, the budget and the life happening on top of it, and we will tell you plainly which one fits. Free quote in English or Spanish.

What's included

The valley's older houses make flooring interesting: subfloors that dip and hump after a century of settling, rooms out of square, doorways that have seen three previous floors. The install starts under the surface — old flooring out if it needs to go, subfloor screwed down and flattened, wood acclimated to the house before it is fixed in place so it does not gap in January when the heat dries everything out. Hardwood suits the farmhouses and colonials it has always lived in; laminate and vinyl take the traffic of kids, dogs and Poughkeepsie rental turnovers; tile handles mudroom boots and bathroom water. Transitions, trim and thresholds get finished clean, because the last five percent is what you see every day.

Flooring Installation by city

The Hudson Valley is not one market — a Rhinebeck farmhouse, a Kingston uptown rental and a Poughkeepsie family home are three different jobs, with three different owners to answer to.

Common questions

Hardwood or laminate — which should I pick?
Hardwood lasts generations and can be refinished, and it fits the valley's older homes. Laminate and vinyl cost less, install faster and shrug off water and traffic. We lay out both prices in the free quote and you decide.
Do you remove the old floor?
Yes — tear-out, haul-away and subfloor prep are part of the job when they are needed. A new floor over a bad base is a short-lived floor, so we fix the base first.
How long does a floor take?
Most single rooms take a day or two; whole floors of a house take longer, and hardwood needs time to acclimate before installation. The quote comes with a real schedule for your job.
